Maine Fans Can Play Wheel Of Fortune LIVE This September
Say it out loud with me: WHEEL....OF....FORTUNE!
The longest-running game show in syndication history is coming to Maine, and you could be a contestant.
Wheel of Fortune LIVE
Wheel of Fortune LIVE is a traveling show that comes to large arenas and theaters to let people experience the game that has been around since 1975.
The only other game show that has been around that long and aired continuously is The Price is Right, which has been airing since September 4, 1972. That's 53 years ago as of this writing!
The show's current tour will take it to The Cross Insurance Center in Bangor on September 29 at 7:30 p.m.
Differences in the Game
The big difference is that Pat Sajak doesn't host as he's retired. Ryan Seacrest and Vanna White are also not involved because they're busy hosting the original Wheel of Fortune, and Ryan has a ridiculous amount of other shows he helms, including American Idol and his daily morning show that is syndicated across the country. This man has NO free time.
Gameplay differs as well. The wheel and puzzle board are smaller. In the first two rounds, five audience members get called up on stage to play Toss-Up puzzles. The first contestants out of the two groups to solve two puzzles each move on to the finals.
After the intermission, five more people from the audience come up to play for the final spot in the final round, and play the Speed-Up puzzle, seen on the real show when they are running out of time, and give the wheel a final spin. The first one to solve the puzzle moves on to the finals.
The Finals
The 3 winners then play the game that you are familiar with, including the bonus round for the contestant who won the most money.
If you're a fan, you won't want to miss this at the Cross Insurance Center in Bangor on September 29 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are available while they last at the Cross Insurance Center website.
