This Solo Woman-Owned Maine Bakery is So Popular They Sell Out Every Weekend
According to WGME Channel 13, a new bakery has popped up in Brunswick and folks are certainly taking notice. Ritual Bakehouse & Patisserie draws you in immediately with the aroma of fresh baked good.
This new spot is located in a historical building at 111 Maine St in Downtown Brunswick.
The best thing is that April Robinson runs the entire show! She is the owner and the magic maker of these savory pastries.
She has two employees that work the register and run the counter but April is the one and only baker.
Initially April went to school for pre-med but then ended up going down a different road and I'd say her journey has paid off!
I had essentially picked up a Zagat guide and sort of picked the best restaurants in NYC and decided these are the guys want to work for
April has worked in any kitchen she could, not baking at the time but working on other lines. She hustled for years and educated herself on the world of food.
There was this one chef that I really wanted to work for, but the only position he had open was in the pastry department. And he promised to move me into the savory kitchen when they had an opening. So, I took it reluctantly. I think they always wanted to push women into baking, and I was so resistant for that reason.
As you read above, she wasn't picturing herself in pastries but she decided to try and once she did that, she never wanted to do anything else.
Her bakery has been opened over a month now and is trending so high that she sells out every weekend.
I love it. I mean, that's why we do what we do. We ultimately want to feed people, and we get to feed people it's great.
