This is Not Your Typical Mailbox in Falmouth – This is Freaking Amazing

Had I not seen in it action, I never would have believed it!

I drive on Falmouth Road at least five to 10 times a week, picking kids up and dropping kids off at Falmouth High School. Falmouth Road in Falmouth, before it veers to the right or goes straight and becomes Allen Avenue Extension, is pretty basic. There are nice homes with mailboxes out front. But Falmouth Road can get pretty busy, and getting your mail along this stretch must require perfect timing so you don't get sideswiped by a car! There is really no shoulder, so cars are pretty close to those mailboxes. Had I not seen this mailbox being used, I would never have known what it could do.

As I see a gentleman go to get the mail, he opens the back of it! It's a double-door mailbox so that he doesn't have to risk life and limb to go to the street! I had never seen anything like that. What I don't know is if you are reading this thinking to yourself, "what an idiot. Of course there are double-door mailboxes."

But it was new to me, and I found it amazing!

It's the small things in life that I find joy in. And this gave me a lot of joy! I actually went on Amazon, and sure enough, they sell these! I thought this homeowner made it up! Like an at-home inventor or something. But alas, these are available to purchase.

Well, they say you learn something new every day. Mark me down as learning about a way to get your mail and not get hit by a car!
