We're so proud of our Portland Police Department and all they do to for our awesome little City. They help us out every day; and now, here's something you can do to help them and the kids in our community. It's the Fill-A-Backpack Challenge.

From the PPD Facebook Page:

Even though we are still in the middle of summer, we are looking ahead to the coming school year. The 4th Annual Fill-A-Backpack Challenge has begun and we are looking for your help. The Portland Police Department is collecting backpacks filled with the following items: crayons, pencils, sharpener, colored pencils, ruler, spiral notebooks, scissors (blunt edge), erasers, and glue.

Any donations can be dropped off at the Portland Police Department lobby. Deadline for donations is August 21st. Once collected, the backpacks will be donated to local students by the Community Policing Coordinators.

Thanks for helping the PPD out and enjoy the summer before we are all back to school!
