The Flight Deck Restaurant in Keene, NH, is Closing

According to sentinelsource.com, after five years in business, the Flight Deck restaurant in Dillant-Hopkins Airport is closing for good on March 14. The article states that though it has been a challenging year, they can't blame Covid for their closure. The owner, Tracy Gunn, was unable to secure a new lease with the City of Keene.

The City was trying to negotiate new terms with Tracy that would have required her to be open six days a week with two shifts per day. It also would have required the airport to approve any scheduling changes. Unfortunately, Tracy was not willing to accept these terms.

Tracy took to the Flight Deck's Facebook page to announce the closure earlier this week. She said:

.... I was unable to secure a new lease for the space from the City of Keene. And frankly, it makes no sense to stay where my business is not wanted. I want to thank you all for the amazing love and support! It has been wonderful to create a place that is unique and special. There are many people to thank. Long time staff and long time customers have made this an especially difficult decision. You will be missed.

The paper states that the Flight Deck opened in the spring of 2016. It filled a space at the airport that according to Tracy, had been vacant for three years. Tracy said she's received offers over the years to bring her business to other airports but she has a life in Keene she doesn't want to leave. She also owns Life is Sweet which is a dessert and cupcake shop in Central Square. (yum)

Tracy encourages all of her loyal customers to come by at some point over the next few weeks and experience their hospitality one last time.
