Strange White Translucent Lobster Surfaces Again In Maine Fisherman’s Trap
A rare white translucent lobster was caught off Chebeague Island back in August this year. The strange creature made national headlines with its unique hue. According to ABC News, the Maine Coast Fisherman's Association believes the lobster has a genetic condition called leucism that causes a loss of pigment.
Yesterday, November 13th, another white translucent lobster appeared in a Maine fisherman's trap off Cod Ledge in Casco Bay. The fisherman believes this is the same lobster as the one caught in August. The original lobster fisherman released the lobster back into the water, after discovering it was a female carrying eggs.
