All of Maine has a boatload of pride for Cooper Flagg, the #1 draft choice for the NBA, born and raised here in Maine. There's no doubt this kid is talented, and he's set to make a lot of money with that skill set.

At a press conference the day before the draft, Cooper was asked by another first-round draft pick if he liked lobster.

#1 NBA Draft Pick

Cooper Flagg was selected with the first overall pick by the Dallas Mavericks, while Liam McNeeley from Texas was selected 29th overall in the 2025 NBA draft and was traded to the Charlotte Hornets.

The hype train is real with the NBA Draft, with a huge press conference the day before. That's where McNeeley tried to get through the throng of reporters asking Flagg questions.

Do You Like Lobster?

In an Instagram video posted by the NBA, McNeeley was not having any luck getting close enough to Flagg to be able to ask his question, which was something that was not your typical question, especially since it had nothing to do with basketball. He even compared the chaos in the room to being in Hollywood, trying to wiggle your way close enough to the celebrity to ask them a question.

McNeeley made it and asked if Flagg, being from Maine, liked lobster. Watch the video for his answer.

Nope. He doesn't like lobster, but his trainer's wife makes a really good lobster roll, so it sounds like he's tried lobster at least.

Now, if you are disappointed, let's be fair. There are a lot of people in Maine who don't like lobster, and can you blame them? It looks like a giant bug. But to me, it's the most delicious bug you'll eat as long as you have lots of butter.

By the way, if you look closely, you'll see WGME 13's Dave Eid approaching McNeeley as he was on his way to ask Flagg his question.
