Apparently, according to WTNH.com, Connecticut outlawed soda sales in schools back in 2006. This was an attempt to instill healthy eating habits in students at least during school hours.

West Haven Police Officers Kim DeMayo and Doug Bauman took this as an opportunity to start running a side biz where they sold sodas to students at West Haven High School. What brands of soda were they pushing? How much were they charging? I need details!

Once the faculty became aware of the down low soda selling, the Police Officers supervisors were contacted and put a stop to it. The officers betrayed the trust of parents and teachers so that wasn't a great look. It is unclear what their motivation was in the first place. Did they want to make the students happy with sugary goodness? Or did they just need the extra cash? We may never know.
