The pandemic certainly hasn't been kind to small businesses this year, and The Fours in Boston is no exception.

The sports bar on Canal Street closed at the end of August after 44 years in business. Management posted a message thanking customers for being so loyal, and thanking the city of Boston for letting them call the City of Champions home:

“Even when you’ve played the game of your life, it’s the feeling of teamwork that you’ll remember. You’ll forget the plays, the shots, and the score, but you’ll never forget your teammates.”

One of the things The Fours was known for was all the prized memorabilia all over the walls.  Now all those one of a kind items are up for sale at auction.

Boston.com reports that pictures and other memorabilia from Larry Bird, Bobby Orr, Yaz, Ted and more are all up for grabs:  There's a signed Patriots helmet, items from icons like Michael Jordan, Shaquille O’Neal, Wayne Gretzky, Muhammad Ali, and Joe Frazier..all up for grabs too.

The auction will be held on December 3rd and 4th.  You can check it out here. It's a  public online auction by Paul E. Saperstein Co.  with over 1000 pieces ready to be bid on.

So whether you're looking for a Ted Williams HR Hitting at Bat Holy Cross Exhibition Game signed "Ted Williams" Wood Framed Photo, or a pair of skates signed by Bobby Orr, there's something here for everyone.

Super sad that the pandemic has claimed yet another business, but it's nice to know you can take a little piece of The Fours home with you!
