UPDATE 2: TMZ confirmed Post Malone was on the flight by Facetiming with the 23-year-old rapper.

"I hate flying in general. I don't know what to say, man. I'm shook," he told the outlet. "There's one hell of a team on that aircraft, and we're here. We're here on Earth and I need a beer and I need some wine at the same time, mixed together."

Malone also tweeted about the experience, writing, "i landed guys. thank you for your prayers. can't believe how many people wished death on me on this website. f--k you. but not today."

UPDATE: The plane has made a safe emergency landing in New York, according to the Associated Press.

EARLIER: On Tuesday (August 21), news emerged that a small plane reportedly carrying Post Malone was prepping for an emergency landing after blowing two tires during takeoff. According to Fox News, it has been circling the the greater New York City area for nearly four hours to work through checklists and burn fuel in preparation for a safer landing, and as emergency personnel gathered on the ground.

Originally, the pilot was going to land back at the New Jersey airport, but was then diverted to Westfield-Barnes Regional Airport in Massachusetts, the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey told Fox. The FAA later told the publication the plane had again been rerouted, this time to Stewart Airport, located north of New York City. It is now reportedly expected to attempt a landing in 10 minutes, after performing a fly-by for visual confirmation on conditions, per FlightRadar24.

On Monday night (August 20), Malone performed at the 2018 MTV Video Music Awards alongside 21 Savage and Aerosmith, closing the show. He also took home the VMA for Song of the Year.
