Roughly two years after it first opened, Rhum, Portland's only tiki bar, officially closed down with one big party last Saturday. Rhum did bring something unique and special to the Portland drink scene, but a combination of stiffer competition and a tough visibility location likely did the tiki bar in.

Rhum did have its fair share of quirks. Including the odd programming that often filled their TV screens. You could also share a volcano bowl out of a gasoline can with your friends. Unfortunately, the tiki bar concept never seemed to latch on as part of Portland's fabric; and thus, another one bites the dust.
