The City of Lewiston was once a shopping mecca for residents in and around the city. Back in the 1950s, stores lined Lisbon Street with department stores, grocery stores, restaurants, you name it. It lasted until the malls started being built. The Promenade Mall, the Lewiston Mall, and the Auburn Mall were now the places to do all your shopping under one roof.

Today, these three malls are shells of their former selves. The Promenade Mall.has just two stores and is no longer a true mall. The Auburn Mall has several former stores used as storage and the Lewiston Mall has just a fraction of the stores it used to have. The times have certainly changed.

But there was a time when all three were thriving and were filled with customers. The Lewiston Mall was no exception, with its unique L-shaped interior with anchor stores on each end, it was one of the places I visited often after getting my driver's license at the age of 15.
