The first New Year’s baby in Maine was born at Maine Medical Center in Portland at 2:55 a.m.
Paige and Joe Maiato of Kennebunk welcomed baby Michael into the world, weighing seven pounds, and 12 ounces thanks to info from MaineHealth.
Northern Light Health made two announcements for newborns.
The first press release went out at 6:30 a.m. on New Year's Day 2025. There were no births yet at their hospitals!
Then a second press release came at 11:30 a.m. with the exciting news of two boys becoming part of the trio of the first Mainers of 2025.
Who was the second-born Mainer in 2025?
That distinction belongs to Myles Hudson Livengood, who was born at 7:05 a.m. (so respectable) to Emily Foss Andrews and Michael Livengood.
Bangor, Maine, is Myles' birth town and he came in at a sleek 6 lbs 10 oz.

Who was the third baby born in Maine in 2025?
Shortly after Myles took the No. 2 spot, Kolton Robert was born at Light Mercy Hospital in Portland, Maine.
His parents are Mariah Rouille and Robert Desrosier.
He entered 2025 at 7:27 am, weighing 8 lbs 4.9 oz. They live in South Paris.
