Jarheads Unveil Memorial

The Jarheads Motorcycle Club has unveiled a memorial near the crash site of 7 of their members according to wmur.com. It’s hard to believe it's been almost two years since the tragedy happened when a truck driving the wrong way caused the crash and the loss of 7 motorcyclists. The crash happened on June 21, 2019, on Route 2 in Randolph, New Hampshire. The memorial stone was unveiled last Saturday where friends, family, and supporters gathered to honor those who lost their lives that day. The memorial stone lists the names of each of the victims and references the “fallen seven” according to the news outlet.

The driver of the Truck Awaits Trial

Driver Volodymyr Zhukovskyy is facing multiple charges of negligent homicide, manslaughter, driving under the influence, and reckless conduct according to wmur.com. Zhukocskyy is due to stand trial later this year.

Remembering the Victims

The Jarheads are a very close-knit Motorcycle club that are almost more like family members the just members of a club. The Jarheads Motorcycle Club is made up of veterans from the U.S. Marine Corps and their spouses. Those that died that day according to wmur.com were Edward and Jo-Ann Corr, Michael Ferazzi, Albert Mazza, Desma Oakes, Aaron Perry, and Daniel Pereira. All the victims were from the New England area. Some from New Hampshire, Massachusetts, and Rhode Island. I remember hearing news of the crash with disbelief. In addition to the fallen seven, we should all remember those injured and the families and loved ones of the events of that horrible day.
