A judge has declared that missing 20-month-old Ayla Reynolds from Waterville, Maine is legally dead, according to WGME.

Last week, Ayla’s mother, Trista Reynolds, testified at a hearing in Portland that she believes her daughter has been dead since December 2011, according to WGME. The report goes on to say the father, Justin DiPietro, told police Ayla was kidnapped from a home in Waterville, where he and Ayla were living at the time. However, Maine State Police found no evidence of a kidnapping, as per WGME.

What they did find, according to WGME, was a significant amount of Ayla’s blood in the basement of the home, which someone attempted to clean up with bleach.

To this date, no one has been charged for Ayla's death even though police reportedly suspect foul play.
