Louie the 132-Year-Old Lobster Was Set Free After 20 Years in Captivity
Louie had been shacking up in the fish tank at Peters Clam Bar in Long Island New York for the past 20 years, according to the New York Post. It wasn't the happiest life for the 22-pound crustacean, but it is better than being someone's dinner, which almost happened on Father's Day!
The New York Post reported that a guy came in and offered $1000 for Louie to make a Father's Day feast, which is quite a lot of moolah for one lobster. The Post said that the owner of Peter's couldn't part with Louie even for that price, so he decided to set him free instead.
Even though Louie has been in captivity for 20 years, experts say there aren't many predators out there who COULD eat him since he's so large and in charge. And he still could find a mate! The thought of lobster love warms my heart.
