Get ready for the thunder of hundreds of thousands of motorcycles for Laconia Motorcycle Week, celebrating 100 years of the motorcycle rally.

For those thousands of riders and New Hampshire, it's a really big deal this year. Not only does motorcycle week turn 100,  but it's also the 100th Annual Loudon Classic at the New Hampshire Motor Speedway.

The Granite State holds one of the largest and oldest Motorcycle Weeks in America. Coupled with the hot spot for all racing, the New Hampshire Motor Speedway in Loudon on June 10-18 will be more exciting than ever.

The 100th Annual Loudon Classic Middleweight Grand Prix on June 17 has been held on the same site for years, including before the Speedway was even thought about, let alone built.   Back then, it was a simple road course called Bryar Motorsports Park.  This is the longest running motorcycle race in the USA.

There's a $250,000 purse with $55,000 going to the winner of the road course race, so it's a big deal, and features riders from all over the world.

There are also two events scheduled which will benefit the New Hampshire Chapter of Speedway Children's Charities. The Top Cop for Kids Motorcycle Skills Challenge features two-timed courses to test accuracy and speed for each division.

You can participate if you're a novice civilian because there's a division for you, and also for police and expert civilian riders.

The newer charity event is the Ride to the Racetrack cruise from Laconia Harley-Davidson to New Hampshire Motor Speedway.  Riders will also get two laps on the 1.6-mile road course.

There is much to see and experience at NHMS and during Laconia Motorcycle Week, so check it out and enjoy the ride.
