It shouldn't come as a surprise that the Westbrook Crossing plaza is currently in transition. Rock Row operates right across the street, and since it has opened, several longtime tenants of Westbrook Crossing have disappeared. Most notably was Shaw's, who permanently closed their Westbrook location early in 2022.

Another longtime tenant of Westbrook Crossing is moving as well. That would be Pizza Hut, who's been housed in their speciality building seemingly forever. If you've visited the Westbrook location recently, you've noticed their dining room being shut down and a sign that promises a relocation soon. But where?

The good news for Pizza Hut fans is the relocation won't be far. Pizza Hut plans to move into the vacant space left behind by Supercuts in Westbrook Crossing. It will be a significant downsize for the restaurant and a clear change in how the business will operate. Most of the dining room will be gone, as well as the popular salad bar that location offered.

The change shouldn't come as a major surprise. Pizza Hut has been downsizing their operations for years now, shuddering most of their large-scale restaurants in favor of the same model most of their direct competitors like Domino's, Papa John's, and Little Caesars use. It's cafe-style, and focused more on delivery and carryout options versus a traditional restaurant where people come to sit and eat. It's a far better option than closing altogether, which several other Pizza Hut locations in Maine have done.

The Pizza Hut location in Westbrook plans to move their operations into the old Supercuts at Westbrook Crossing in March.
