For The Cure, For Others, For Hope: Our Friend’s Inspiring Journey

Kim Charland is a close friend of my significant other, Michele. They met while working at News Center Maine, and the two have been close friends ever since.

Kim has been battling stage 4 metastatic breast cancer since 2021, and her friends and family have been there every step of the way.

Kim was diagnosed in 2021 with stage 4 metastatic breast cancer, but she wasn't going to let that get in her way. She's a loyal friend, loves her family, loves Kenny Chesney, and wears flip flops for three seasons out of the year.

Kim is a warrior.  It's her positivity and humor that make her a warrior. She can bring a smile to faces with her humor and help a friend in need as well.

She's not alone in this battle. Her former co-workers at News Center Maine, her friends, and her family have supported her every step of the way. You've got this, Kim!

As 94.9 HOM kicks off the 23rd Annual Cans For a Cure, Kim will be on our minds as we collect bottles and cans to raise money for the Maine Cancer Foundation. Come see us at the Maine Mall Parking lot under the tent.
