John Oliver Brings Stand-Up Comedy To Boston This Winter

Comedian and host of Last Week Tonight on HBO, John Oliver, is going on a short tour this winter, and one of those stops will be in Boston.

John Oliver has been the host of Last Week Tonight for 12 seasons after a stint as a correspondent and guest host on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart. This was back when Stewart was the only host on the show, as opposed to his one-night-a-week hosting after he returned on February 12, 2024, during the last presidential election.

John Oliver Stand-Up

Oliver's career began as a stand-up comedian in the UK, where he was born. Nearly every other late-night talk show host got their start that way. Even after comedians go big time on late-night TV, they still always manage to find a way to return to their roots in stand-up.

Jon Stewart has two sold-out shows at Merrill Auditorium this fall, and now John Oliver is going on stand-up tour that is coming to Boston.

Oliver is kicking off a short, four-city stand-up tour in Boston at the MGM Music Hall at Fenway on Saturday, Dec 27, 2025, at 8:00 p.m. Tickets are available now, but they are going fast.
