If you got tickets to see Jon Stewart in Portland, Maine, you are one lucky duck.

Jon Stewart is coming to Portland, Maine's Merrill Auditorium on June 21. Word spread fast, and tickets to see the Emmy-winning comedian sold out in about three hours. How do I know that? Because I tried to buy them.

Jon Stewart uses his sharp intellect to jab both sides of the aisle.

If you hear the name Jon Stewart and think 'bleeding heart liberal', you are no fan of Jon Stewart. To call him a comedian almost seems like a disservice because he is truly brilliant. His knowledge and understanding of our politics and his true belief in this country and our democracy are the foundations for his rhetoric. I am simply in awe of the way he can break through the noise to get to the problem and hopefully a solution.

Jon Stewart is coming to Portland, Maine, and will probably talk about first responders.

Jon has a closet full of impressive trophies, including 23 Emmy Awards, two Grammys, five Peabody Awards, and the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor in 2022. But it's his work as an advocate for first responders who responded to the 9/11 tragedy, that he is most passionate about. The Portland Press Herald points out

...he received the New York City Bronze Medallion for his “tireless advocacy, inspiration, and leadership (helping to) pass the permanent authorization of the September 11th Victim Compensation Fund Act,” which included testifying before Congress.

Go buy a lottery ticket, you lucky ticket holders. I am very jealous but also grateful that so many people rushed to see this brilliant man speak.
