Children’s Museum in Portland, Maine, Holding Adults-Only Halloween Event
"I don't want to grow up, I want to be a kid" is one of the most famous slogans in American commercial history. That slogan belonged to Toys 'R' Us, which consistently reminded all of us that being an adult doesn't mean you have to lose your youthful enthusiasm.
It's that youthful enthusiasm that has driven the success of some events in New England over the past few years at amusement parks. Rather than grow up, places like Story Land and Funtown have invited adults to their parks for their own special occasion, an adults-only evening away from any kids.
Another place is ready to get in on the action in hopes that adults feel like same wave of enthusiasm about a night at the museum away from kids. The Children's Museum and Theatre in Portland, Maine, is hosting an adults-only Halloween bash on Thursday, October 24.
Visitors to the after hours event will have access to all three floors of the children's museum to observe and interact with the exhibits. You'll be able to feel like a kid again as trick or treating will be encouraged throughout the museum during the Halloween bash.
But there's also plenty that will make it feel like an adult event as well. There will be light bites from Plot Twist Pretzels as well as the popular Bird and Co restaurant. Cocktails will be available from Sacred Profane as well as Leisure Time Cocktail company.
There will also be live entertainment throughout the evening, including a DJ spinning all your favorite dance tunes.
Proceeds from this Halloween event will the Children's Museum and Theater's community fund, which helps give access to the museum at no cost to all kids and families.
Full details about the event can be found here.
