Popular Portland Smoothie Business Opening in Brunswick and Scarborough
If you love all things smoothies, then you love Blake Orchard, and they are expanding.
According to Mainebiz, Blake Orchard will open a location in Brunswick this spring, and a third one in Scarborough this fall. The owner, Alexandra Blake Messenger of the original Blake Orchard on Forest Avenue in Portland, has been at it for ten years now. She decided that it was time to grow the business after immersing herself in knowing all the ins and outs.
She's hoping to have the opening in Brunswick at 2 Station Avenue in April or May, and then Dunstin Village in Scarborough this fall. They will all have the same menu of smoothie drinks and bowls, raw cold-pressed juices, matcha, and coffee.
Why expand into Brunswick and Scarborough?
Alexandra told Mainebiz,
I chose Scarborough and Brunswick for many different reasons. We love to be a part of our local community, and I feel like both towns have great communities that I’m confident will welcome us in with open arms. We already have customers from both areas who travel to Portland to see us regularly and many that can only get to us once in a while and have been asking us for years to expand.
I get why people travel from Scarborough and Brunswick for these smoothies, smoothie bowls, and freshly squeezed juices. There's nothing like them. You can thank Alexandra's interest in starting a business in the wellness sector, but it wasn't until she went to Scotland that she knew it would be in the juicing and smoothie end of the spectrum. In 2014, her parents bought her a juice maker, and she still uses the recipes she developed back then.
If you've had it you know, and if you haven't, put it on your to-do list of things to try in 2024! Good news is that if you live in Brunswick or Scarborough, you won't have to travel far for a treat to your senses!
