Step Aboard the Boo Bus for a Chilling Journey Through Central Maine’s Haunted History
Oooooo... although Halloween is still a little while away, who says spooky season has to wait until October? Summer is the perfect time to gather some friends, enjoy a warm evening, and dive into the eerie history hiding right here in our own community. If you're ready for chilling tales, local legends, and a spooky history lesson, the Boo Bus might be just the adventure you're looking for.

The Boo Bus is a restored vintage vehicle that has been transformed into a Victorian-inspired mobile parlor, offering a unique way to experience central Maine's history. Operated by Kennebec Creeps & Crawls, the tours depart from the Hallowell Antique Mall on Water Street in Hallowell. From there, the bus travels through the historic communities of Hallowell and Augusta, where passengers learn about the people, places, and legends that have shaped the region. Rather than relying on jump scares, the experience focuses on storytelling and local history.

Historic Routes and Stories
The Boo Bus currently features two themed tours. A Tale of Two Cities explores both Hallowell and Augusta, sharing stories of haunted buildings, historic landmarks, and local folklore. Murder, Mayhem, & Madness concentrates on Augusta's darker history, covering crimes, mysteries, and unexplained events connected to Maine's capital. Throughout each tour, guests hear stories based on historical research as well as legends that have been passed down through generations, creating an experience that is both educational and entertaining.
A Memorable Experience
The Victorian décor inside the bus helps create an atmosphere that complements the stories being told by the guide, known as the "Lady in White." By combining local history with folklore, the Boo Bus offers visitors a chance to experience Augusta and Hallowell from a different perspective. Instead of simply telling ghost stories, the tour highlights the events and people that have contributed to the communities' rich and often mysterious history.
