Another Brutally Cold Weekend is on the Way For Maine & New Hampshire
I think we can all agree that, so far, this winter has been a lot colder and snowier than we have had over the last few years.
Sure, at this point, it does not look like we are going to be setting any new records for low temperatures or snow, but it is definitely not the kind of winters that we have been accustomed to getting here in Maine.
And, it looks like we are going to end up dealing with more brutally cold weather this weekend.
According to Weather.com, the jet stream is going to dip low toward the end of the week. That’s going to cause us to face another blast of cold air throughout much of the eastern part of the United States. There is a good chance that this will also bring a decent amount of snowfall to the Great Lakes. At this point, it does look like we are going to be dealing with a little bit of snow here in New England, but there won’t be much to it. Maybe and inch or two.
The biggest pain for us here in New England is likely to be the brutally cold temperatures.
In Central Maine, we can expect daytime temperatures in the teens or low 20s from Thursday through Sunday. The overnight temperatures will be close to zero. Over the weekend, we will probably see overnight temperatures in the negatives.
The White Mountains of New Hampshire will see similar temperatures. However, they will see negative temperatures every night between now and the first part of next week.
Maine’s Aroostook County will see overnight lows in the negatives between Thursday and Monday.
Please keep in mind that these temperatures do not take into account wind chills.
So, if you need to be outside, please bundle up.
