It is easy to forget how many lottery games there are in Maine and New Hampshire.

This is true for even the most regular lottery players.

Now, it looks like there is a new game that you need to keep an eye on.

According to an article on the WMTW website, the new Millionaire for Life drawing game is already producing winners in Maine, with early tickets bringing in some cash for local players.

Maine is one of 31 jurisdictions participating in the game, which features daily number drawings.

So far, two Maine players have claimed $7,500 prizes.  One of the winning tickets was purchased at Monmouth General Store, while the other was sold at Shaw’s Northgate.

The game’s top prize awards $1 million per year for life, while the second-tier prize pays $100,000 annually for life.  Both prizes include a guaranteed payout period of 20 years. Winners at those levels can also choose to receive their winnings as a one-time lump-sum cash payment instead of the annual payments.

The overall odds of winning a prize are about 1 in 8.46, while the odds of landing the top prize are roughly 1 in 22.9 million.  Michael Boardman, Deputy Director of the Maine Bureau of Alcohol and Lottery Operations, said the new game gives Maine players a chance to win life-changing money each year and was designed to deliver on the promise suggested by its name.

Tickets cost $5 per play and are sold in participating lottery jurisdictions across the country.
