Downtown Augusta, Maine Hosting Free Fireworks Display on Saturday, May 9th

Here in the United States, we love a good fireworks display.

Obviously, most communities have some kind of fireworks display on the 4th of July, but we don't always need to be celebrating a holiday in order to shoot off some firesworks.

For example, you'll also frequently see fireworks displays at community festivals and agricultural fairs.  Some of our favorite amusement parks, like Palace Playland and Funtown / Splashtown USA, even have frequent fireworks displays throughout the summer.

Yeah, we definitely do not need a holiday in order to host a fireworks display.

Sometimes, fireworks shoot of fireworks just because they can!

That's why the Augusta Downtown Alliance has teamed up with the team at Central Maine Pyrotechnics for a free fireworks display in downtown Augusta on Saturday, May 9th.  The plan is to set off the fireworks at 8 PM.  For more details, including where the best viewing will be from, please keep an eye on the Augusta Downtown Alliance Facebook page.

With the many great restaurants in bars in Downtown Augusta, this is an opportunity to make it a evening with your family, friends, or just that special someone.  Some of the great establishments include Cushnoc Brewing Company, Capital Bar & Grille, State Lunch, Otto's On The River, Riverfront BBQ, and Two Maine Guys.
