There are not as many drivers on the roads, sadly because many people have been laid off or furloughed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Others who still have their jobs are working from home; thus, aren't using their cars to get to and from their offices. Most people are only going out on urgent business, such as to doctor's appointments and to the grocery store. So, I'm glad to hear that some auto insurers are giving back money to their customers.

WGME is reporting most people will not have to call their insurance company or do anything to get that money and that all refunds have to be approved by the Maine Bureau of Insurance.

Check to see if your auto insurance company is on this list which WGME compiled.:

AAA Northern New England
Allstate
Farmer’s Insurance
Liberty Mutual
Nationwide
Progressive
State Farm
Union Mutual
