Is This Cheap Pass to Live Nation Concerts a Good Deal for Mainers?

Live Nation Entertainment is the behemoth behind ticket sales to almost every big concert in most of the world. They merged with Ticketmaster in 2010 and pretty much have a monopoly on ticket sales at large stadiums and venues.

You may remember the mess they created when Taylor Swift's Era's Tour launched and tickets to every single event were gone in the blink of an eye, with hardly any going on sale to the public.

That same company is now once again offering their "Lawnie Pass" for $235, which guarantees general admission lawn access to 25 summer concerts across the US in 2024. But is it worth it if you live in Maine?

The largest concert venue in Maine is the Maine Savings Amphitheater in Bangor which can house up to 15,000 people for a show depending on how the seating is configured.

They also have lawn seating. So maybe you can see some shows there, right?

Nope. Maine Savings Amphitheater isn't on the list for the Lawnie Pass. It's not one of the participating venues. The nearest venue that will get you in with the Lawnie Pass is The Xfinity Center in Mansfield, MA.

On top of that, certain shows are excluded from the pass including Chicago / Earth, Wind & Fire, Styx / Foreigner,  The Doobie Brothers, and ZZ Top / Lynyrd Skynyrd. I'd love to see all of those shows, but I can't with the Lawnie Pass.

If you're willing to travel long distances, can get the time off from work, and can be lucky enough to get the pass in the first place since they are being offered to previous pass holders first, then sure. It's a great deal for you. For the other 99%, don't waste your money.
