With the holidays quickly approaching, chances are you'll be doing a lot of online shopping. Which means you'll probably be getting more packages delivered to your home. So how at risk are New Englanders to becoming victims of package theft? "Porch pirates" is the phrase has been coined for criminals who steal delivered mail. And across the country it's become more and more of a problem every year.

Luckily for New England, it hasn't gotten as bad as it is in other parts of the country. In fact, according to a recent study published by security.org,  Some of the states with the lowest occurrences of these kinds of theft are the New England states.

Massachusetts, Vermont, and New Hampshire are the three lowest ranking states in the study. Maine ranks relatively low as well, at #46. Rhode Island ranks #41, and Connecticut comes in at #40.
