Here’s What New Englanders Will Miss the Most About Summer
Well, friends, we hate to be the bearer of bad news, but summer will officially come to an end next week.
Yes, it's true that some of us won't miss this time of year. The heat can be too much, the bugs are a nuisance, and depending on how humid and muggy it gets, the gradual drop in temperature could actually be a relief for many as we enter the colder months.
That said, so many of us long for summertime after the long, dreary winters we have. We hate freezing our butts off in the cold snow and ice, and look forward to the warm days that summer brings. The flowers are in bloom, the sun is shining, birds are singing, nature has come alive again, and it's light out past 4pm. Plus, you can ditch that heavy winter coat for the flip flops that have been sitting in your closet for months.
What are some things you'll miss about summer? Is it the warm weather, longer days, and pretty greenery and gardens? How about visiting your family's house on the lake, or enjoying an ice cream cone after an afternoon with friends on the beach?
We absolutely love all of those things, as do other New Englanders. Here's what other locals will miss the most about summer.
