If you're the kind of person that loves trying new things, I've got something special to tell you.

I love being out and about and coming across hidden gems. And there are some great ones out there.

Well, I've got to tell you about these three new businesses that opened relatively recently in Maine.

Whether it's a new local eatery or a bar, there's always something new popping up, and these might have missed your radar. Until now.

1. Bread & Friends

This place is so cute! These are the kinds of unique bakeries that make Portland, well, Portland. One day I went for a run, and boom this little bakery popped up. I was so intrigued that I looked it up once I got home (their social media is brilliant by the way).

Not only was this new little place a bakery, but it is also a daytime restaurant too!

Here's the full menu if you want to check it out too!!

2. Room For Improvement

HOW UNIQUE. This new little cocktail bar was opened up in April this year by two veteran mixologists in the area who wanted to combine craft cocktails with the reality of the bar scene. Brilliant.

Nestled right in the middle of Wharf Street off the cobblestones, you'll see a really cool logo above their door, but no official sign that lets you know where you are. THAT'S how you'll know you've found it.

Mysterious. Love it.

3. Papi
It's nice to see more culture coming into the city in Portland recently. This Puerto Rican-inspired bar seems to be the Old Port's version of Old San Juan. I just got back from Puerto Rico last month, and all I can say is good job on this one guys.

Check out their havana style menu here if you're in the mood to feel like you're on vacation!

Did you know about these places? Have you been yet? Are there any new places you think people should know about? Let me know!
