Have You Ever Heard of the Mysterious Bermuda Triangle of New England?
Did you know that New England has a Bermuda Triangle?
This is terrifying. I did not know about the Bennington Triangle of Glastenbury in Vermont until recently. There have been numerous incidents of people going into the area, never to be seen from again. The mysterious disappearances date all the way back to before there were settlers in the United States. As the old Native American legend says there is a stone in the area that will swallow you whole and stayed away from the area according to legendsofamerica.com.
Bennington Triangle First Mentioned
The first person to call the area the Bennington Triangle was author Joseph A. Citro back in 1992. It is said to encompass the areas of Bennington, Woodford, Shaftsbury, Somerset, and Glastenbury. People go in, but they don’t come out. Many Bigfoot sightings occur in this region and the bigfoot sightings go all the way back to the early 1800s. A stagecoach was attacked by a large creature. The passengers in the stagecoach were terrified.
Disappearances
There have been numerous disappearances in the area. Back in 1945, there was a string of disappearances. More than 5 in rapid succession. First was a hunting guide who was taking some hunters through the woods. His name was Middle Rivers and his body has never been found. Next to vanish was a young Bennington College student named Paula Welden. She also has never been found. Then, according to legendsofamerica.com, little 8-year-old Paul Jepsen vanished. His parents had left him in their truck while they tended to their pigs. Despite an exhaustive search, he has never been found. The last person to disappear was Frieda Langer, the only person whose body was found. She had been gone missing during a hike with friends and despite more than 400 people searching the area for her, she was not discovered until 7 months after she went missing and her body was badly decomposed. No cause of death could be determined. Some say there was a serial killer on the run, others suspect an old native American curse. I know one thing for sure, I won’t be hiking there.
