Take a Whack: Ghost Hunts Available at Lizzie Borden’s House in Fall River
Many people know the story of Lizzie Borden, or just the Borden murders in Fall River, MA. The murder case of Lizzie Borden's father and stepmother even has its own nursery rhyme "Lizzie Borden had an axe, she gave her mother 40 whacks, once she saw what she had done, she gave her father 41."
For years, no one has been able to say who actually killed Mr. and Mrs. Borden. I personally do not think that Lizzie Borden did it, at least not alone.
However, there may be a way to communicate with a member of the Borden family. The house that housed these horrific axe murders, is actually a bed and breakfast.
You don't have to stay the night if you don't want, however, if you want to explore the house you still can. The owners of the house offer daily tours and even nighttime ghost hunts.
That's right, you can spend part of the night trying to communicate with a member of the Borden family. According to the Lizzie Borden House website, you can partake in a ghost hunt that occurs on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays from 10 pm to midnight.
If you choose to partake in this ghost hunt, know that you don't actually need to bring your own equipment, which if you ask me is pretty cool. Lizzie Borden House states that they supply ghost hunting equipment that you would share with others that choose to join you in this experience.
The downside of this experience is that you will not be able to explore the entire house and therefore not be able to see where the murder of Mrs. Borden occurred. According to the Lizzie Borden House, the ghost hunts only occur on the first floor and the basement.
The Mass Hauntings team actually went and spent the night in the infamous Lizzie Borden House, and proved that even though no one was murdered in the basement, doesn't mean that there is no paranormal activity down there.
I am not a fan of basements in general, so this may not be my cup of tea. If you want to take the chance of running into Mister or Mrs. Borden, then this is your chance.
Who knows, you may even get to communicate and find out who committed this unsolved crime.
