FREE Holiday Festivities At Freeport’s L.L. Bean Northern Lights

Today marks the beginning of L.L. Beans “Northern Lights”, each year it’s a little different but it is always wonderful for the whole family.  If you’ve never been to the L.L. Bean flagship store during the holiday season, you are indeed missing out.  Aside from all the amazing shopping deals all around Freeport with all the factory outlets overflowing with amazing deals, the entire L.L. Bean campus gets transformed into a winter wonderland.

Check out all these amazing things going on.

ICE SKATING
Don’t miss the “ice skating”  in Discovery park every day from 9am-8pm.  Don’t worry about brining skates they have you covered with FREE rentals on a brand new synthetic skating rink surrounded by the lit holiday Christmas trees with the holiday music in the background.  A blast for the entire family. Oh, and this year something extra special, heated benches have been placed around the ice rink so you will be sure to be toasty no matter the weather.

MODEL TRAIN VILLAGE
As you stroll by the camping department window you can see this impressive display of trains and buildings fashioned after the many quaint New England villages. If you have a keen eye, you can even see Ole’ Saint Nicks trail….All Aboard!

LIFE SIZED SNOW GLOBE
OK, admit it…you’ve always wanted to jump inside those cute little holiday snow globes. Well, now L.L. Bean makes that wish reality. They have a life sized snow globe that your family can step into for a memorable photo op.

TWINKLE LIGHT TUNNEL
There nothing quite like taking a stroll through the “Twinkle Light Tunnel” which will completely envelope you in white holiday lights.

WHIMISCAL WINDOWS
As you make your way around the Hunting & Fishing department check out the incredible, and edible, gingerbread building displays put together  by Wilbur’s of Maine Chocolate Confections.

HOLIDAYS AROUND THE WORLD
Make sure to check out this engaging, fun, and not to mention educational interactive walk that shows you how other countries celebrate the holidays. All the stops along the trail have codes to scan that will enlighten you on the unique holiday celebrations all around our planet.

So many wonderful things to do during the 2021 Northern Lights display at L.L. Bean. They also have a bunch of specialty programs going on all season including, curling demos, boat & tote stenciling,  Paracord crafts, custom Bean Boot laces and embossing, Santa’s reindeer, and FREE Hot Chocolate at the Hot Cocoa Bar.

Truly a gem of a time, and it’s all FREE!
