Farmington, NH Man Charged With Hitting Mother in Head With Shovel
A Farmington man is facing up to seven years in prison after he allegedly hit his mother in the head with a shovel.
Prosecutors say Thomas Leighton, 32, caused a laceration when he struck his mother on Dec. 27 in Farmington.
Leighton's last known address is on Knotty Knoll Circle, according to court paperwork.
Leighton is charged with second-degree assault and could be fined up to $4,000 in addition to being sentenced to prison time if he is convicted.
Leighton was indicted by a grand jury at Strafford County Superior Court in Dover on Sept. 16.
