Thousands of people who work for Dick's Sporting Goods won't be getting a paycheck due to the ongoing COVID-19 crisis, according to USA Today. The company reportedly has 40,000 employees throughout the U.S., and most of them are getting furloughed, as per the article. Some workers will stay to take care of online orders and curbside services.

Officials at the Pittsburgh-based company don't know when its stores will reopen; thus, they couldn't say when the furloughed workers could come back. Officials also said employee benefits like health insurance would continue during the furlough.

USA Today reports the furlough will go into effect on April 12th, 2020.
