COVID-19 Vaccine Due to Arrive in NH This December

Gerald R. Ford once said in a speech to the American people after the Watergate scandal, according to fordlibrarymuseum.gov:

My fellow Americans, our long national nightmare is over.

Okay, not quite yet, however, it IS getting closer.

Governor Chris Sununu announced yesterday, per WMUR, that vaccine distribution from Pfizer and Moderna will begin to arrive here in NH during the third and fourth weeks of this December.

The Governor said anywhere between 10,000 and 40,000 doses are expected to arrive, according to the news station, and after that, more vaccines will arrive on a weekly basis.

WMUR stated that emergency care workers are slated to get the first rounds of the vaccine in what's being called Phase 1A of the process, but it will take many weeks before all of them are vaccinated.  The report also says that probably around March, the general population will be getting the vaccine.

Okay, never has hard news meant so much to me in my life.

With this news, however, there are people who will not take the vaccine.  What will that mean?  Will it mean that if we choose not to, that we will be subject to fines or worse, jailtime?  If we choose to get the vaccine, will that give us the feeling of freedom from COVID-19 that we have been wishing for since March 2020?

I don't think this thing will be over for a very, very long time.

If you're like me, you know people on both sides of the vaccine question.  There are some who absolutely will be the first in line and tow their families with them.  There are others who vow never to get it.

This, unfortunately, isn't over by a long shot.
