Blink and you might pass this bland building with great pizza in Biddeford, Maine.

It's Coletti's Pizza Factory. It's funny that Frank Coletti chose that as the name of his business because the building (which used to be a home) looks like you would go in and see carpet samples. But if you don't mind some awful lighting and cold atmosphere, some pretty amazing pizza is being made.

This is authentic Italian pizza in Biddeford, Maine

When Frank was just 18, he came to America from Italy. He watched and studied how pizza was made and combined styles. His pizza is a mix of Neapolitan and New York-style pizza. He was reviewed by the Portland Press Herald's Andrew Ross in 2023 and Andrew had real issues with the location.

Andrew Ross said in the November 2023 article,

Spend more than a few minutes under the dining room’s harsh white overhead lights, and it’s easy to see why. Despite the two dozen seats, this space still feels like a converted garage workshop or a medical waiting room, even with new flooring and a fresh coat of off-white on the walls. What’s missing is coziness, soft edges, a little warmth.

Frank told Andrew of the Press Herald that he thought the place used to be an insurance agency, but he wasn't sure. Makes no difference, because it's not about the building, it's about the pizza - and Mainers love pizza.

He sells only two things: pizza and wine and you can get a deal on the wine. He has done the place that also sells fried food and all-you-can-eat stuff - but he wasn't happy with the quality of the food and decided to concentrate on pizza. Just pizza. His customers are so glad he decided to stick to pizza. Just pizza. And that landed him in Yelp’s national 100 Best Pizza Shops list.
