How to Help the 23rd Annual Cans for a Cure in Maine
It’s that magical time of year again when you say bye-bye to those sticky cans and bottles in your garage and graciously donate them, all to help fight cancer!
Ladies and gentlemen, we're quickly approaching the 23rd annual Cans for a Cure.
This is all to benefit the fantastic work being done at the Maine Cancer Foundation. You’re welcome, world and humanity.
Here’s how you can be a legend and help Cans for a Cure 2025
- Bring your bottles, your bucks, and your beautiful bodies to see us camped out at the Maine Mall in South Portland.
- It’s all starting at 6 a.m. Wednesday, October 15, through 10 a.m. Friday, October 17. We will be at the Jordan's Furniture Broadcast Center at the Maine Mall! It's our usual corner with a tent, thanks to our forever friends at One Stop Event Rentals. You literally can’t miss us.
- Walk, run, or skip to see us, Lizzy Snyder, Lori Voornas, and Jeff Parsons. We will be caffeinated, sleep-deprived, a bit delirious, but purely hopped up on joy and happiness, collecting your bottles, cans, and good vibes.
We understand, you're busy, life is nuts, and your car may smell like root beer and redemption centers, but this is important, and you’re helping people.
No Bottles? Just Donate
You can donate right now if you aren’t planning on bringing your bottles to us. The Maine Cancer Foundation has made it super easy to spread generosity. Click here to donate and instantly feel amazing.
The Can Van Route is Real & Epic
Thanks to Bill Dodge Auto Group, our Can Van is back, baby, and it will be zooming around the state each day from dusk to dawn picking up bottles from, like, everyone.
Who will be in the Can Van? Lori Voornas and Lizzy Snyder! If you want to hop on the route, email Lori, and we will stop by your spot! Here's her email: lori.voornas@townsquaremedia.com
Whether you are donating online, dropping off your cans, or throwing them in our Can Van, just please know, you are making a massive difference.
Yes, we will be crazy and confuse tons of mall shoppers, but we are determined to raise a ridiculous amount of money to fight cancer. Let us help you clean out your garage. Bring those bottles.
Will We See Bryce and Riley from Parsonsfield This Year at Cans for a Cure?
Yes, these two wonderful guys have been collecting bottles for us most of their lives! Makes you want to cry, doesn't it?
Bryce and Riley are now 19 and 17 years old, and they are not slowing down.
They have been endlessly supported by their community and raised an incredible $10,000 in 2024, and this year, their dedication has continued. We can't wait to see them.
The Maine Cancer Foundation with Cans for a Cure
The folks at the Maine Cancer Foundation have dared to dream each day to help those who have suffered or are currently suffering from cancer.
Their mission? To reduce cancer rates in the state of Maine, and each dollar received will go directly back into our communities to support the people who live, work, and fight here. Donate here, donate now.
This was a bold idea that has grown into a movement, and guys, it's only getting stronger each year.
And to our sponsors..
Endless hard squeeze hugs and love go to everyone who shows up, especially our powerful partners because we couldn't do this without you.
