
Meet the Mainer Behind Some of The Movie Magic of “Wicked”
Believe it or not, one of Maine's own played a major role, in the blockbuster hit, “Wicked”. You’ve heard of it, right?
Well, Alice Brooks from Portland, who lives with her husband and daughter spent over a year working in England on both of the “Wicked” films, according to the Portland Press Herald.
In the original “Wicked” movie and it’s follow-up, “Wicked: For Good” Alice served as cinematographer saying,
"I've been attracted to light, since I can remember. In Wicked One, light is actually the darkness and the darkness is the light. In movie one the pink sun is always raising for Glinda and the sun is setting for Elphaba" according to Wicked" For Good via YouTube.

Alice was skillfully able to blend light and shadow to help create the contrasting worlds of Elphaba and Glinda.
The newest movie, that we’ve all be waiting with bated breath for, “Wicked: For Good” is set to be released Friday, November 21st.
As per the article, Alice was integral in framing the light for Glinda’s magical bubble and every other noteworthy scene we love! She truly puts her heart in the work of this movie.
Maine’s Own Behind the Magic of Wicked
Alice grew up in New York and Los Angeles and spent her summers in South Bristol Maine.
She eventually made Maine her home and not wanting to spend too much time away from her family during working on the film, she brought them along with her to London, England!
Alice described her work on these films as "I think we were all allowed to dream bigger then any of us had ever dreamed before." "Wicked: For Good" via YouTube.
This is an incredibly proud moment for the entire state of Maine, knowing that someone who was integral in this films calls our Pine Tree State, home.
