Walls Blum Lost His Mom to Breast Cancer, Now This Maine Teen is Biking 2,500 Miles Alone
Most teens are spending the last weeks before college packing, hanging out with friends, or squeezing in one final summer vacation.
Wallace Blum is doing something a little different.
According to his Instagram, Walls Maine teen has set out on a 2,500-mile solo bike ride from Maine to Key West, Florida, all to raise money for breast cancer research in honor of his mom, who died from breast cancer in 2015.
With his freshman year of college just a month away, Wallace decided to challenge himself in a way few people ever would. His goal isn't just to cross the country on two wheels, it's also to inspire others to step outside their comfort zones.
One Bike Ride, One Mission, One Incredible Cause
On his Instagram page, he explains, "I'm doing this trip to push myself personally... I've never done anything like this before, so I want to push others to try things they've never done before."
He's also hoping to make a real difference by raising $10,000 for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, with 100% of donations going directly to the organization. .
Even better, Wallace is documenting every leg of his journey on Instagram, sharing the highs, the challenges, and everything in between as he pedals south completely on his own.

It's an incredible reminder that one person really can make a difference and that sometimes the biggest adventures begin with one brave decision.
As of August 23, 2026, Wallace has already raised $7,125 of his $10,000 goal thanks to 68 generous donations, and with plenty of miles still ahead, there's no doubt many people will be cheering him on all the way to Key West!
