A Section of Turner Street in Auburn Will Be Closed Wednesday

The Auburn Police Department would like drivers to know that a part of Turner Street will be closed for a good part of the day Wednesday, October 30.

The Auburn Water and Sewage districts will be doing some work on Turner street between Plummer Street and the rotary. Traffic heading south away from the Auburn Mall area will not be affected, but northbound traffic headed toward the mall will have to detour at Mayfield road.

The good news is crews are waiting until the morning commute is just about over and will close the section of road from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday.

If you plan on travelling on Turner Street near the Auburn Mall, be prepared to follow the detour signs sending you down Mayfield Road, over to Summer Street, and bringing you out onto Mt. Auburn Ave. It's a short detour, but you should probably plan on an extra five minutes or so depending on traffic to get around the construction.

Let's hope you can still get to IHOP for pancakes while this is going on.
