Why did Daylight Saving Time start? I've heard so many different theories, from it was Benjamin Franklin's idea to save electricity to farmers need an extra hour of daylight in the morning to harvest. Does anyone really know? With all the energy saving light bulbs and appliances these days, do we still need Daylight Saving Time?

Either way, the clocks go back an hour for most of America at 2 on Sunday morning. So we gain an hour of time, but lose an hour of daylight in the evening.
