For the past month, there have been sightings of creepy clowns all over the country but none here in Maine...until now.

The clown sightings have caused genuine concern not just because they're scary, but we've all seen IT, so we have Stephen King to blame for our fear. He even weighed in on the whole clown sighting phenomenon saying that “The clown furor will pass, as these things do, but it will come back, because under the right circumstances, clowns really can be terrifying.”  New York Police have said don't fear the clowns, because they don't see it as any real threat.

After the first sightings of a creepy clown in Maine, the Orono Police Department took to their Facebook page to let people know they aren't going to deal with any funny business from clowns.

Clowns in Orono? Clearly some University of Maine students are riding the scary clown wave. I mean, if you were a REAL scary clown, why would you go to Orono?

It seems obvious to us that whoever started this creepy clown parade has gotten others on board to post videos of their creepy clown encounters. Like this guy who is not from Maine.

We'll keep you posted any more creepy clown they appear in Maine.
