Rare Blue Lobster Caught By Portsmouth Fisherman Last Week

Hey Mr. Lobster, why so blue?

An extremely rare blue lobster was caught three miles off the coast of Rye New Hampshire last week. How rare are these bad boys you may ask? According to Seacoastonline,  A freckled blue lobster like this one is a one in 10 million catch!

So what is going to become of this unique crusacean? Captain Ben Ricker, the fisherman who made this impressive catch, donated him or her to Explore the Ocean World, a Hampton Beach oceanarium run by a local marine biologist.

Blue Ivy (I have taken the liberty of naming this lobster) will spend the winter visiting schools all over New England and help children learn about marine wildlife.
