My Favorite Cocktail in Portland, I’ll Share a Secret…

When I stumble upon something spectacularly delicious I feel that it is my civic responsibility to share my find with you. Mark and I were out for date night in the Old Port and while waiting for our table at Central Provisions on Fore St. we crossed the street to the Glass Lounge at the Hyatt Place Hotel. They have a really interesting drink menu, but ultimately I chose Snow White's Poison, a cocktail that was created by our very personable and talented bartender, Josh. I was blown away by how savory, sweet and spicy this cocktail is! It is out of the question for me to recreate this drink because there is a super-special foam that I could never duplicate. I leave this drink to the professionals. Here's what's in it:

The Glass Loung is also gorgeous. I'm mad for glass, and the backlit panels almost make you feel like you're under water. Even if the panels aren't glass, I don't care. Suspension of disbelief makes up 50% of my day, I can roll with it.

The ceiling reminds me of the work of my favorite glass artist, Dale Chihuly.
