Herb considers himself luckiest guy in the world to be able to captain one of the greatest rock stations in the USA! That's why the call him "The Captain," right? He's been on the Blimp for over 30 years, and no two days have ever been the same. He calls Blimp listeners “friends I’ve never met,” and it’s true as they share a common bond of living in Maine and a passion for Rock and Roll. He also enjoys working with so many local charities and businesses as well. He's wicked proud to represent Townsquare Media as Vice-Chair of the Board of Directors of the Maine Association of Broadcasters and as a board member of NESCom at Husson University.

Who was behind today's parade in Portland? We can thanks the great students, teachers, and staff at the Levey Day School, a Pre-K to 7th-grade independent school in Portland, who were celebrating Israel's 73rd Independence Day - Yom Ha’Atzmaut - with a small parade through the neighborhood. The students led the march while wearing Israel’s national colors and waved flags they made in their art classes. What a great thing!

A plantation in Maine is not a town or village, and it's not one of our "unorganized territories." But it's still pretty unorganized. A Maine Plantation is self-governing and provides most of the same services as a town, but unlike a town, does not have the power to make ordinances.
