An audio recording from the European Space Agency has been released from the comet being tracked by Rosetta. It's an eerie spacey noise from deep space that came as a surprise to scientists. The Singing Comet has gone viral.

The European Space Agency released a news statement saying, "The scientists think it must be produced in some way by the activity of the comet, as it releases neutral particles into space where they become electrically charged due to a process called ionisation. But the precise physical mechanism behind the oscillations remains a mystery."
