There's lots of different ways to enjoy the Maine craft beer scene whether you're a local or just visiting. Most breweries in Maine have incredible tasting rooms, most bars and restaurants in Maine feature a plentiful selection of craft beer varieties, there's even a Maine Brew Bus, that will drive you safely to and from some of Maine's most popular breweries. But in the height of the summer, what if you desperately want to be out on the water while enjoying craft beer? Good news, there's an answer for that too.

You (and some friends too!) could hop aboard a Maine-made sailboat and for a unique craft beer experience called Sails and Ales. Each Thursday throughout the summer, a 2-hour cruise through Casco Bay is offered up, with a different featured Maine brewery coming along for the ride. You'll get the incredible views of lighthouses, old forts, and islands while sampling several different beers from whomever the featured brewery is that week. Space is limited on the sailboat, which makes the tour far more intimate. Some of the breweries featured this summer include Mast Landing, Bissell Brothers, Sebago, Allagash and Lone Pine.

The Thursday tours have already begun and continue through the end of September.
